YOUR ROLE

If you are a passionate, solution-centred, creative, proactive professional with good communication skills, then being COAF (Children of Armenia Charitable Fund) Social Worker at the Child and Family Center in Artsakh is a perfect role for you. Your responsibilities are the following:

Case management (60%)

  • Identify residents and families in Artsakh that are in difficult life circumstances, prioritizing children.
  • Conduct holistic assessment and evaluation of the families.
  • Design a development plan for each target family, follow up on the implementation process, and ensure quality services.
  • Create and maintain a supportive network to fulfil the development plans for each family․

Education and awareness-raising (30%)

  • Implement awareness-raising and education activities in the target areas on the widespread problematic topics that will be revealed as a result of an assessment.
  • Organize awareness-raising community events on the topics of social responsibility, highlighting the importance of the services in the Child and Family Center.
  • Promote the culture of volunteering and support the creation of volunteer groups and guide them to implement activities targeting social issues.
  • Raise awareness about the activities of the Child and Family Center in Stepanakert and other target communities.

Cooperation (10%)

  • Cooperate with the multidisciplinary team of the Center and with other departments of the organization.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with other organizations of Artsakh.

YOUR TEAM

Taking over the role of Social Worker you will be joining the COAF Village Programs team and you will work under the leadership of COAF Social Work Coordinator.

  • The social protection system, governmental policy and legal framework of Artsakh, as you have higher education in Social Work (BA and/or MA) and at least one year of experience in the field of social work.
  • Armenian, verbal & written.
  • Non-formal education methodology.
  • Formal education policy of Armenia.

YOU CAN (Skills)

  • Provide quality social work services, because you have at least one year of relevant experience.
  • Use G Suite and other working platforms.
  • Organize, prioritize & multitask.
  • Analyze & work with data.
  • Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Present & communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

WE ARE

Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that employs community-led approaches aimed at improving the quality of life in rural Armenia, with a particular focus on children and youth. COAF’s target development areas are education, health, social and economic development. COAF launched its programs in 2004, starting in one village and expanding to 64 villages in Armavir, Aragatsotn, Lori, Gegharkunik, Shirak, and Tavush regions.

Since 2015, COAF has developed and started implementing SMART Initiatives. COAF SMART is designed to advance a generation across the rural world through education that will benefit individuals, societies, and the environment. COAF SMART is an exemplary model of development and will be replicated in other regions and communities throughout Armenia. The first COAF SMART Center was inaugurated on May 27, 2018 near the village of Debet, Lori Region.
