USAAA announces a job opening for the position of the Executive Director.
The USAAA is Armenia based NGO which unifies those in this country who have participated in any educational, academic or other program in the United States of America.
Location: Yerevan, Armenia
Job Duties
The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of USAAA, and will facilitate the coordination of USAAA activities. The holder of this position will increase the membership of the organization through effective networking; identify and prepare documents describing strategic directions of USAAA; organize events and alumni meetings on weekly basis, be responsible for office space.
The Executive Director
• Plans and oversees the management of activities undertaken by USAAA; ensures that substantive work program and program activities are carried out in a timely fashion, coordinating diverse projects of USAAA and in liaison with other organizations.
• Ensures that the outputs produced by the USAAA maintain high-quality standards; that reports are clear, objective and based on comprehensive data. Prepares inputs for the work program of the USAAA, determining priorities, and allocating resources for the completion of outputs and their timely delivery.
• Carries out programmatic/administrative tasks necessary for the functioning of the USAAA, including preparation of budgets, assigning and monitoring of performance parameters and critical indicators, reporting on budget/program performance, preparation of inputs for results-based budgeting, evaluation of staff performance (if applicable), interviews of candidates for job openings and evaluation of candidates.
• Recruits, inducts and supervises new members and induce the membership of the association.
• Maintains excellent relations and strategic coherence with other alumni associations in Armenia and the relevant staff in international organizations, as well as with partner organisations, and with US, EU and CIS embassies.
• Prepares and conducts trainings, seminars and meetings.
• Represents USAAA in the media.
• Prepares short monthly updates for USAAA networks on the developments of the Association.

• Managing Performance: Delegates the appropriate responsibility, accountability and decision-making authority.
Education
• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, finance, law or related field. Preference will be given to US alumni.
Knowledge and Skills
• Extensive knowledge of available social networks – facebook.com, linkedin.com, academia.edu, ecademy.com, ning.com, twitter.com
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Strong computer skills and mastery in excel and word programs, blog and website management tools.
• Excellent knowledge of Armenian and English, knowledge of other languages is preferable.
Work Experience
• A minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience - NGO, Government, international organizations, etc.
• Experience working with budgetary and accounting operations.
• Experience in the field of alumni affairs and with media is an additional asset..
• Some willingness to travel within Armenia.
