Description:   This training course – offered through American university of Armenia Extension program - is developed to teach project fundraising and grant writing to general audiences. The participants will increase their understanding of key fundraising principles, funding methods and sources, financial aspects of fundraising and the grant writing process. Participants will learn hints and tips of winning proposals.
The project methodology includes lectures, classroom discussions and presentations, exercises and examples, case studies, and experience sharing. Handouts and printed materials will be provided during the course.

Target Audience:
The course is suitable both for individuals who have experience in fundraising and grantwriting and for people with no experience in the topics of the course.

Objectives and Key Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able:
- To creatively research and identify the diverse sources for funding a project
- To increase their influences on decisions of donors, understanding their motivations and interest in funding their project
- To understand the logistical structure of grant proposals
- To independently develop a grant proposal, including the budget section
- To increase their financial skills and understanding
- To increase the impact and success of their projects through detailed planning

Topics Covered:

Funding sources and methods
• Origins of funding sources: own sources, public and government funding, types of private foundations, corporate funders and individual philanthropists
• Donor motivation theories and influences of funding sources
• Methods of fundraising (experiences from U.S. and Europe): sponsorship, individual donations, grants, special events, e-fundraising
• Diversity in fundraising
Writing effective proposals and budgets
• Logistical structure: cover letters, needs assessments, goals and activities, methodology and timetable, evaluation, etc.
• The art of applications, dos and don'ts
• Preparing effective and realistic budget
• Financial agreements
• Practical experience in writing applications
Asking, Acknowledging, and Reporting
• Establishing personal links and building relationship with funders
• Recognition of supports, analyzing fundraising
• Reporting obligations
• Preparing activity and financial reports

Fee: 12,000 AMD (VAT inclusive)

Schedule: 6 hours, 11:00 – 17:00 ( 1 hour free for lunch)

e-mail/bring completed one.You should have your passport and one 3×4 size photo with you
Tuition – in cash – is paid at AUA Cashier's Office – main building, 5th floor, Room 59.
The cashier's office is open from 10:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday.
For course fee transfers from organizations please provide company requisites in Armenian to get an invoice for transfer.
Requirements:   Participants are expected to have working knowledge of English at high-intermediate proficiency level .
