TRAINING OUTLINE:
This course is structured around principles of leadership and will provide students an understanding of the dynamic interactions of personal characteristics, technical skills, interpersonal influence, goals, and power necessary for effective organizational leader and follower behavior. The course highlights three areas for leaders: managing oneself, managing others and managing work. The comparison of traditional and contemporary leadership theories creating a theoretical basis will be connected to the practical experience. Special assessment tools and inventories will be used to identify the potential and strengths of each of the participants. Beyond a set of tools and techniques, this training experience is designed to make an emotional and lasting impact.
METHODOLOGY:
A number of tools will be used to facilitate the learning process of the participants:
• Lectures and handouts: The seminar will include short lectures on aspects and theories of leadership to effectively connect it to the practical experience. The participants will be get handouts, articles and suggestions for additional resources.
• Participatory activities: The seminar will incorporate a range of participatory activities that will provide the participants with hands-on skills and tools in leadership.
• Self-assessment tools and inventories: Special practical tools will be used to help participants to understand their leadership tendencies, motivation, behavior and it's impact on other people. It will equip the participants with tools to make effective choices and influence the outcomes of their interactions.
OBJECTIVES:
Upon successful completion of this training, participants will be able to:
• to identify own leadership potential and style (with strengths and weaknesses)
• to recognize fundamental leadership principles, essential leadership traits, skills and behaviors
• to get acquainted with traditional and contemporary leadership theories
• to realize the interrelation of leadership and management and importance of their balance
• to get practical tools and skills in better understanding and managing themselves and others
• to learn how to build effective leadership strategies based on followers expectations and behavior

- Charismatic Leadership (Weber);
- Trait theories; Managerial Grid model
Managing Oneself
- Know yourself: Strength inventory, Meyers Briggs Type Indicator
- Attitudes and qualities of leaders
- Leadership styles
- Identify your potential in leadership, strengths and weaknesses
- Emotional intelligence
Managing Others
- Leaders and followers: motivation, inspiration, persuasion, satisfaction and trust
- Power and authority (Hagberg model)

FEE: 15 000 AMD (VAT, lunch and coffee breaks inclusive)
Students will receive 15% and AUA Alumni 10% discount.
